Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the DigiSearch mobile application ("DigiSearch", "the app", "we") handles information. DigiSearch is a privacy-first, offline search tool that lets you find your screenshots, photos, PDFs, and documents by the text inside them. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

None. DigiSearch does not collect, store on any server, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data. Specifically:

• We do not require an account, sign-in, email, or phone number.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising IDs, or third-party trackers.
• We do not upload your photos, documents, extracted text, or search queries anywhere.
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any.

2. How your files are used (on your device only)

To let you search inside your files, DigiSearch reads them and builds a private, searchable text index. All of this happens locally on your device.

• Photos & screenshots — With your permission, the app reads images to recognize text in them using on-device OCR (Google ML Kit's bundled, offline text-recognition model). Images are never sent off the device.
• Documents (Pro) — If you choose folders to search using Android's folder picker (Storage Access Framework), the app reads PDFs and documents in those folders to extract their text on-device. You control exactly which folders are included, and can remove them at any time.
• The search index — Extracted text is stored in the app's private storage on your device and is used only to answer your searches.

3. Permissions we request and why

• Photos and media — to read your images so their text can be indexed for search.
• Access to folders you pick — (Pro) to search the documents inside folders you explicitly select.
• Notifications — to show indexing progress.
• Foreground service — to keep indexing running reliably while it completes.

DigiSearch does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or call logs.

4. Where your data is stored

Everything DigiSearch creates — the search index and any extracted text — is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never backed up to our servers (we have none). Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.

5. Internet and network use

DigiSearch's core features — indexing, OCR, and search — work fully offline, even in airplane mode. The app uses a network connection only for one purpose: to communicate with Google Play's billing system if you choose to purchase DigiSearch Pro. No files, extracted text, or search activity are ever transmitted over the network.

6. Purchases (DigiSearch Pro)

DigiSearch offers an optional one-time in-app purchase ("DigiSearch Pro") to unlock document search. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. DigiSearch does not receive, collect, or store your payment card details or billing information. Purchase handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

7. Third-party services

DigiSearch keeps third-party involvement to the minimum needed to function:

• Google ML Kit (Text Recognition) — runs on-device using a bundled model; your images are processed locally and are not sent to Google.
• Google Play Billing — used only to process an optional Pro purchase, as described above.

8. Children's privacy

DigiSearch is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Data sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user information with anyone. DigiSearch collects no data to share.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
